GUTTS Academy specializes in providing entry-level training for individuals seeking an opportunity for a future and a career in the HVAC industry. GUTTS understands the importance of equipping job seekers with the necessary qualifications to excel in today's competitive market. Our three-week concentrated course is designed to prepare future employees with the HVAC skills needed to be successful in an entry-level job. With a focus on both in class and hands on lab training, the GUTTS Academy offers a unique blend of theory and practical experience that employers highly value. 

Instructor Duties: 

• Support and assist development of HVAC curriculum
• Prepare for and provide instruction commensurate with the syllabus.  
• Document student attendance, grades, and progress.  
  
• Provide students with knowledge and skills development needs through instruction and labs.  
• Create an effective learning environment; and methods designed for a variety of learning styles and needs.  
• Ensure the safety of the training room and lab areas, machinery, tools, and equipment.  
• Prepare students for testing to receive certifications.   
• Comply with state and program policies and guidelines.  
• Develop good relations with students and community partners.  
• Prepare, review, and recommend updates to the Academy course syllabus and curriculum as needed.   
• Work closely with GUTTS’s leadership to improve the Academy’s course curriculum and syllabus.   
• Maintain current knowledge of changes in trade industry and state requirements.  

• Maintain instructor, student, and Academy staff confidentiality.  
• Ensure training and other work areas are secure and protect instructor and student personally identifiable information.  
• Interact with students, co-workers, and business partners in a cooperative and professional manner.  

Requirements:  

• A valid driver’s license. Reliable transportation to the job site or access to reliable public transportation.   
• High school diploma or GED (but not required).  
• Maintain current knowledge of changes in trade industry and state requirements.  
• Teaching experience is preferred but not required.  
• Solid background and knowledge of foundational HVAC principles and theories.  
• Current Journeyman HVAC License or Master HVAC License preferred or 10 years of field level plumbing experience.  
• Ability to follow instructions.  
• Communication skills, as required to interact with students.  
• Basic Plumbing knowledge a plus 

Physical Requirements:   

• Will be required to work in a lab setting.  
• Prolonged periods of standing or kneeling may be required.
