Elementary Classroom

St. Mary's Catholic School in Taylor, Texas (serving students ages PK3 - High School), is seeking Elementary Classroom & Religion Teachers for delivery of a Catholic classical curriculum in a self-contained classroom.

Our teachers will work alongside and be supported by a team of teachers and administrators who cultivate wonder, awe, and love of Christ among our children. Our faith is integrated completely into the stories, phonics, content, history, math, and discoveries of the natural world as students are guided through a sensory-infused curriculum.

You will be surrounded by faith-filled teammates who grow and learn with one another, as we engage in small- and whole-group professional development throughout the year (book studies, focused seminar groups, retreats, prayer groups, conferences, and training in classical pedagogy).

The oldest private school in the county (established in 1896), SMCS serves PK3-12th grade students. We are the first school in the Diocese to return to our Classical roots, and the first school in Texas to open a Chesterton Academy (an international network of joyfully Catholic, Classical high schools). St. Mary's has implemented a classical instructional program that includes integrated History, Literature, and Religion, formal logic curriculum, rigorous Great Books/Classic Literature studies, and a focus on the pursuit of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.

Requires: Bachelor's degree. All applicants must be practicing Roman Catholics and/or must support and exemplify Catholic doctrine and morality in a manner consistent with the teachings of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.

Classical education and/or classical teaching experience preferred. If candidate does not hold a teaching certification, he or she must have or acquire (within the first two years of teaching with us) a minimum of 12 hours in education courses.
