Summary

Target RWE is looking for a Clinical Data Abstractor to work a minimum of 15 hours per week as needed (PRN schedule). In this role, you will be responsible for supporting deliverables across all therapeutic lines. This role will play an integral part in meeting and optimally exceeding client expectations which advance Target RWE’s presence in the marketplace as an industry leader advancing real world evidence.

What You'll Do

  • Perform clinical data abstraction based upon project specific work
  • Validate abstracted clinical data in response to quality checks
  • Provide input and recommendations to improve the overall abstraction project (abstraction guidelines, educational resources, clinical insight, abstraction workflow suggestions, etc.)
  • Attend project meetings and trainings as requested.
  • Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to test abstraction guidelines, workflows, education material, etc.
  • Track completion of assigned work and report status, as needed
  • Maintain current knowledge of project requirements related to clinical data abstraction.
  • Support Target RWE’s goals by exhibiting a commitment to clients, integrity, learning environment, responsiveness, and respect.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all homebased office clinical data / PHI containing copies and electronic files, ensuring active copy security during and outside of work hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Your Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other healthcare related field preferred. Associates degree required. Will consider completion of associate degree in cancer registry management (CRM) or cancer information management (CIM) from an NCRA-accredited program in lieu of Bachelor’s degree. 1+ year demonstrated experience in clinical data abstraction (or similar role). 3+ years in a clinical and/or healthcare setting is strongly preferred. Experience in multiple clinical areas is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrates direct or indirect knowledge of data abstraction, with ability to abstract clinical data from PDF records and EMR’s and/or medical platforms (such as EPIC, Cerner, Beacon, Varian, OncoEMR, AllScripts). Demonstrates knowledge of medical record structure, format, and content. Expert level knowledge of medical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Possesses knowledge in pharmacology and microbiology. Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and organize tasks and competing priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in computer fundamentals and applications; ability to learn new computer applications (Electronic Capture Tools, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel). Demonstrates strong analytic skills. Ability to work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision. Ability to handle and resolve issues / objections. Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a professional team. Intrinsically motivated to learn independently and has a strong desire to learn.

Total Rewards

The salary range estimated for this position is $31.50 - $33.00 per hour. Compensation will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
