Emerge is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire weekend shift Mechanical Maintenance Technician Job in Chattanooga, TN for our client, a busy manufacturer of quality forged products. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician performs a variety of general manufacturing maintenance duties in a hit, dry environment, which include electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment such as ovens, forges, presses and facilities. The mechanical maintenance technician troubleshoots, installs, dismantles, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance and needed repairs. This is a WEEKEND shift position, working Friday – Sunday, 5:30 AM – 6:30PM, and overtime, if any, on Thursdays. You will be scheduled 36 hours and get paid for 40. Our client offers a base salary of $28 to $34 per hour based on experience, and an excellent benefits package that starts on day one.


Responsibilities for the weekend shift Mechanical Maintenance Technician job in Chattanooga, TN include:

  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery, equipment, furnaces, presess and facilities.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.


Qualifications:

  • High school graduate, GED or equivalent experience required. Trade school education is a plus Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills
  • 5 or more years of experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance technician experience with experience in a forge or heat treating facility.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work overtime on Fridays
  • Must be able to pass client background checks.
