NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team This role is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing is carried out (and the end product is produced) in the most time-efficient and cost-effective way while still maintaining overall product quality. This is an onsite role based in Winsted, Minnesota.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Respond to production problems and escalations where repeat failures or large business impacts are occurring
  • Takes on initiatives to solve challenges without a lot of direction
  • Maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and workforce utilization in multiple areas
  • Determine the parts, equipment, and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications utilizing advanced technical abilities
  • Work on projects with significant complexity
  • Leads projects impacting singular or multiple teams. Advanced planning required for task sequencing
  • Identify areas of Continuous Improvement (CI) work
  • Performs moderate to advanced engineering calculations
  • May do equipment proof of concepts and coordinate installations

Role Qualifications as a Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3 years of experience, or equivalent, and 8 or more years of experience in a manufacturing setting. Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered
  • Knows and applies advanced concepts and techniques of a manufacturing engineer
  • Knows and applies tools to perform Root Cause Corrective Action analysis.
  • Computer literate; particularly in word processing, spreadsheet, email
  • Read and interpret customer specifications and industry standards
  • Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings

  • Writes internal manufacturing routings
  • Ability to solve practical problems and make decisions
  • Effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills, in English
