Siena Catholic Schools of Racine is seeking a dynamic and creative leader who can inspire and serve as Assistant Principal at St. Catherine’s High School, an urban 9th-12th grade school.

Siena Catholic Schools of Racine (SCS) unites the area’s six Catholic elementary schools (John Paul II Academy, Our Lady of Grace Academy, St. Joseph School, St. Lucy Catholic School, St. Rita School, and St. Sebastian STEM Academy) in a regional model of Catholic education intended to preserve the individual identity, history and uniqueness of each school while maximizing the impact of collective strength.

Scope and Summary: Provide for overall leadership and coordination of day-to-day student life and school activities to ensure a positive and productive school culture both in and outside of the classroom. Additionally, provide leadership in collaboration with the High School Principal in the supervision and evaluation of the faculty and academic staff. This position is responsible for accomplishing goals and objectives that are consistent with the advancement of the mission and vision of Siena Catholic Schools of Racine.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a role model of the beliefs and teachings of the Catholic Church in word and action; provide a living example of our faith to students, families, faculty, and all who are associated with SCS schools.
  • As a visible leader in the school and parish community, promotes the mission of Siena Catholic Schools of Racine, incorporating it into the daily life of the school.
  • Provide opportunities for the school community to celebrate its faith through regular participation in the sacramental life of the Church.
  • Collaborate with staff to give witness to the Catholic identity of the school with religious signs, symbols, and displays as well as through the celebration and/or recognition of Advent, Lent, Catholic Schools Week and other liturgical or Archdiocesan events.
  • Coordination of the daily operations of the school including, but not limited to: Teacher / Staff time off requests, Field Trip Requests, Oversight of daily attendance, Supervision in school cafeteria during student lunches, Morning and afternoon announcements, Before and after school supervision responsibilities, Student discipline,
  • Participate in regular school activities outside of regular school hours including, but not limited to: All School Dances / Social Events, Athletic Event Supervision – as assigned at the beginning of each athletic season, Back to School Night, Fine Arts Night, Graduation, Honors Banquet, Benefactor Events – Black & White Ball, Golf Outing et al., Open House, Parent-Teacher Conferences, School Play / Musical, Student Concerts, Student Retreats, And other events as directed by the Principal
  • Assist in the oversight and the evaluation of academic departments & programs as assigned including participation in the observation and evaluation process for all teachers (w/Principal).
  • Coordinate preparation of student reviews at the conclusion of each semester
  • Organize necessary paperwork and forms
  • Participate on the Student Review Committee
  • Participate in Probation meetings (w/ Administration & Student Services)
  • Participate as a member of the following committees: Operations Committee - Chairperson, Building Maintenance Team – Chairperson, School Safety Team - Chairperson, Parental Involvement Committee, Response to Intervention Committee, Academic Leadership Committee, Student Review Committee, And any additional ad-hoc committees requested by the Principal or Chief Academic Officer.
  • Participate in, and at times lead, the candidate search and interview process for new faculty and staff members.
  • Collaborate in the creation and execution of the School Improvement Plan
  • Serve as Principal of Summer School
  • Serve as a member of the High School Leadership Team.
  • Serve as the building administrator in the Principal’s absence.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to promote the role of Catholic faith in educational work. Practicing Catholic preferred.
  • Willingness to uphold and promote the mission, goals, and objectives of St. Catherine’s High School.
  • Relevant teaching experience at the middle and/or secondary school level.
  • Master’s degree in educational leadership and administrative licensure (or demonstrated progress toward a Master’s degree)
  • Ability to support the vision and mission of Siena Catholic Schools in a positive and productive way.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with all staff.
  • Conduct all written and verbal communication in a timely, cordial, and professional manner.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and feedback to staff members in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage multiple priorities and establish an efficient, flexible schedule to achieve operational goals.
  • Perform all duties with a high level of accuracy and clarity.
  • Appropriate knowledge of computers and related business applications.
  • Quickly identify problems and promptly implement recommendations for solution.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and extended workdays as needed.


Basic Staff Expectations:

All Siena Catholic Schools of Racine employees and volunteers are expected to comply with the faculty/Staff Handbook and the Parent/Student Handbook. All SCS employees are expected to work positively in collaboration with others in addition to completing other tasks as assigned from time to time by their supervisor/administration.

Work Relationships & Scope

Frequent contact with school faculty and staff, students and school families. Frequent contact with SCS President, SCS Chief Academic Officer, SCS Director of Business, Parish Pastor, Other SCS or Pastoral Staff as designated Occasional interaction with other Siena colleagues. Secures the approval of the Principal in making decisions when answers are not clear and further guidance or input is needed.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: The work takes place in primarily an office/school environment; however there is some travel and limited exposure to outside elements.
