The Senior IT Technician is responsible for technical work as the third line of support in responding to the system users, assisting in troubleshooting and working with hardware and software problems.


Duties and Responsibilities

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

· Resolve complex help desk tickets and troubleshoot issues in computers and peripherals; provide hardware replacement, cleaning or repair as needed; respond through remote connectivity or traveling to store location.

· Install, operate, and perform maintenance on equipment and devices.

· Support and maintain the existing hardware technology products including desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and associated infrastructure.

· Deploy computers as required including the configuration of new systems, installation of software, and handoff to stores.

· Provide customer and network administration services to handle problems.

· Test computer programs on a regular basis to ensure maximum security and protection.

· Ensure data backups are secured and recoverable.

· Identify technology needs and make recommendations to Director of IT.

· Enforce policies and procedures as laid out in the support center handbook, security policy, and corporate Standard Operating Procedure documents.

· Adhere to the department budget & spending strategies. Attain purchasing discounts when possible.

· Supervise Level 1 Technician help desk and remote support operations of store technologies. Continually evaluate SLAs & effectiveness of support center operations.

Requirements:

Qualifications

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:

· At least 2 years’ considerable experience in troubleshooting and maintaining IT systems.

· Windows desktop operating systems including installation, use, and management.

· Windows Server operating system management and administration.

· Fundamentals of endpoint and network security systems including anti-virus, anti-malware, security groups, and access control lists.

· Skilled with Microsoft server operating systems and Point of Sale software and equipment.

· Active Directory fundamentals including user management.

· Understanding of networked computing.

· Experience with SQL databases.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.

· Efficient troubleshooting abilities and keen attention to detail.

· Excellent organization, time management and customer service skills.


Education

The position requires the following educational experience:

· Associate degree or higher in an IT, Computer Science or related field is required.

· Or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.

Work Environment

· Work is performed primarily inside a climate-controlled office space. Occasionally there will be travel and may work in an outdoor environment.
