WHAT IS YOUR DAY IS LIKE?

As an Advanced Tax Specialist, you prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals and small businesses, carefully reviewing Forms 1040, 1120-S, 1065, and 1041. You conduct research on various tax issues and stay updated on changes in tax laws, ensuring accurate tax reporting by analyzing financial data. You constantly communicate with clients, collecting all necessary information and providing expert guidance. Using advanced tax practice management software, you keep the workflow moving efficiently throughout the year. Your role goes beyond numbers; you impact clients' financial health, knowing you've contributed to their success.

You also enjoy a great work-life balance, with operating hours from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and Fridays off during the summer.

WHAT'S NEEDED FROM AN ADVANCED TAX SPECIALIST?

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting OR 5+ years of experience in preparing business and personal tax returns in a public accounting firm
  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting and tax
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other basic computer skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
  • CPA or EA license (preferred)
  • Experience with UltraTax and QuickBooks Online (preferred)
