Summary

The Bridgewater Community Childcare is seeking an enthusiastic Preschool Teacher who will provide direct education and childcare services through a holistic and dynamic center. The Bridgewater Community Childcare (BCC) offers an affordable high-quality learning and caring environment for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years old focused on a holistic approach which considers the wellbeing of the whole child and family in a comprehensive, practical system including the ongoing development of our staff and program.

Duties

  • Develop, coordinate and implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
  • Maintain communication with parents through formal and informal discussions, reports, observations and conferences
  • Foster a welcoming classroom environment
  • Maintain appropriate hygiene, cleanliness standards, safety and security
  • Maintain accurate records, forms and files
  • Classroom opening and closing duties
  • Professional communication with Program Director, Admin, and parents
  • Follow all center policies and state regulations
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Meet requirements laid out in Vermont Child Care Licensing Regulations and staff handbooks
  • Commitment to whole-person development


Requirements

1. Teacher: at least twenty (20) years of age and meets on of the following qualifications: at least a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Four A or B certificate; or at least a bachelor degree from an accredited college with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, Special Education with a birth to eight years of age focus, or Child and Family Services at least twelve months experience working with groups of children for grade three or young; or at least a bachelor degree from an accredited college with at least successful completion of thirty college credits with an early childhood or school age focus and at least twelve months experience working with groups of children from grade three or young; or hold at least a current Vermont Agency of Education teaching license with an endorsement in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, or Elementary Education.
