This position is responsible for providing both preventative maintenance and repair function to the facility, brewery and packaging equipment as well as perform grounds maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment in the facility is operating safely and efficiently with limited unplanned downtime of production equipment.


Job Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Maintain electrical, electronic, mechanical, heating and cooling systems, plumbing, gas, air, drain and wastewater systems.
  • Assemble, maintain, upgrade and troubleshoot all brewery systems components.
  • Help monitor sub-systems and equipment to ensure proper operation and work with brewery production teams to promote efficiency.
  • Support periodic equipment validation/testing procedures.
  • Support all safety and GMP (good manufacturing practice) programs.
  • Help manage SOPs (standard operating procedures) and preventive maintenance schedules and logs.
  • Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory/ organization for parts, supplies, and tools.
  • Maintain an organized and clean shop that extends to all areas where work is completed.
  • Respond to emergency calls during off shift as needed.
  • Flexible work schedule to allow maintenance team to provide greater coverage and support of brewing operations.


Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent. Training as an electrician preferred. A degree or certification in a mechanical/engineering field strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in maintenance position. Experience in food and beverage facility, packaging role, and craft brewing strongly preferred.
  • Basic welding, electrical, electronics, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and machining. TIG / MIG welding experience a plus.
  • Mechanical knowledge of operation and repair of motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, belts, hydraulics, cylinders, chain conveyors, expansion joints, etc.
  • Knowledge and troubleshooting ability of AC/DC power, high/low voltage applications, VFD's, solenoids, RTD/Temperature sensors, PLC, HMI's, etc.
  • Understanding of basic fluid flow applications including pipe fitting, pumps, valves, pressures, flow rates, steam, compressed gas, refrigerant distribution, etc.
  • Proficient in inspection, operation and maintenance of materials handling equipment including basic forklift, scissors lift trucks, tele-handler and pallet jacks.
  • A skill set including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, PV system maintenance, outdoor landscaping, and grounds maintenance is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and organize high, mid and low priority tasks as defined by supervisor.
  • Forklift operator certification preferred.
  • Hawaii state driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent physical movement in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise and high heat and humidity situations.
  • Work in a variety of outside weather conditions.
  • Ability to handle the disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Ability to work safely on/around potentially dangerous equipment/machinery with moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to work in tight/cramped work spaces for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to work at elevation including on ladders and scissors lifts.
  • Heavy lifting occasionally required (100+ lbs.)
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, etc. for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate various power tools and proficient in the use of hand tools.
