JOB SUMMARY
As a Registered Pharmacist (RPh), you will be responsible for dispensing prescription medications to patients and ensuring that they are used safely and effectively. Your primary duties will include interpreting physicians' prescriptions, verifying the accuracy of medications dispensed, providing advice on drug interactions and side effects, and educating patients on proper medication usage and storage. You will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and may also be involved in compounding medications, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and fill physicians' prescriptions accurately.
- Verify prescription information and dosage instructions.
- Counsel patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
- Ensure medications are dispensed safely and in compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care.
- Manage pharmacy inventory and order medications as needed.
- Maintain patient records and confidential information.
- Provide excellent customer service and address patient concerns.
- Stay updated on pharmaceutical developments and new medications.
- Adhere to pharmacy policies and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
- 2 years Experience as RPh
- Valid state pharmacist license (RPh).
- Knowledge of pharmacy law and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with pharmacy software and computer systems.
- Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Residency or additional training in a specialized area (e.g., clinical pharmacy, hospital pharmacy).
- Previous experience in a pharmacy setting. (2 years)
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or other relevant certifications.
