The successful Appliance Service Team Member will possess a great attitude and a servant’s heart. We believe that the technical aspect of your role is essential; we provide a great deal of training in this area. You will be working with mechanical appliances, so it is crucial that your understanding of these machines is complete. You will be working with both electric and gas appliances.
Your professional demeanor and attitude also play a tremendous part in the fit that you will be on the team. We are looking for a Team Member who can work within the team but also take initiative independent of direct supervision.

Being a Trusted Advisor also requires empathy and tact, especially when faced with a challenging situation. Good communication skills are essential when dealing with customers as well as other Team Members who might be in different locations.
Strength is required as this is a physical job with many appliances weighing a great deal. You will be using trucks, hand carts and your muscles to shift and move these pieces in customers’ homes. The successful candidate should be physically fit.
This position will require working a variety of hours that may include early mornings, weeknights and Saturdays and at certain times, extra hours beyond the normal schedule. There will be times that you will be the “On Call” technician for after hours emergencies that may require extended hours including Sunday.
You will be entrusted to operate a company vehicle and are responsible for coordinating the maintenance of that vehicle, including scheduling routine oil changes and inspections, and other necessary service. You are also responsible to see that the vehicle is kept clean and tidy both inside and outside.
Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Competencies
You can read and write English and perform basic math functions that would commonly be found in a retail sales environment. Your interpersonal skills are great; you can read, write and otherwise communicate effectively with managers, Team Members and customers.

You are enthusiastic, friendly and energetic and possess a genuine desire to provide outstanding service. You are slow to anger and can remain calm in most situations.
You enjoy learning and gaining knowledge, and you possess good decision-making skills.
You are comfortable in a professional environment and you are concerned with your own neatness and cleanliness. You can multi-task, handling the needs of customers as well as being flexible to the needs of the company. People would describe you as detail-oriented and mechanically inclined. You most likely work on your own car and fix the broken toaster rather than buy a new one.
You can pass a criminal background check along with driving record and drug screening.
Education and/or Experience
We value both formal and non-traditional education and believe that learning is a lifelong journey not bound to a specific time or place. Our ideal candidate is a continuous learner who wants to grow to become a better person and Team Member.
Other Attributes
You are described as dependable and have a high attention to detail. You demonstrate ethics and integrity in your work. You enjoy working with others as a part of a team and demonstrate self-control. You are cooperative and helpful to customers, and show concern and empathy for others. You courageously take on challenges and can adapt quickly to changes in the workplace. You smile easily

This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, lifting, grabbing and standing. You will also need to stoop, kneel, crouch, travel up and down stairs and be able to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted and 300 pounds with assistance. You will drive or ride in a truck to customer’s homes and then manually move appliances for diagnosis, repair and then reinstall them.
Work Environment
We strive to provide a positive work environment in which all team members feel they can grow personally and professionally. Reasonable accommodations are made to enable persons with disabilities to perform the described essential functions. We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
