Summary:

The SolidWorks PDM/CAD System Administrator is an integral part of Ranpak’s engineering and product development operations globally. This role ensures that CAD data is well-organized, easily accessible, and that CAD/PDM systems are effectively maintained and supported. This position is essential for optimizing design processes, enhancing collaboration, and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the engineering teams, and the company as a whole.

Essential Duties &Responsibilities:
• Define, configure, and maintain PDM workflows using SolidWorks PDM Administration tool, or any future PLM tool.
• Develop, implement, and maintain CAD file standards, templates, libraries (part, fastener,
material), and system configurations.
• Responsible for maintenance and administration of the SolidWorks PDM Vault, and other
CAD/PDM/PLM systems, including workflows in partnership with IT.
• Provide technical support and assistance as needed, to users of the PDM system, including
installing, training, upgrading, and troubleshooting software.
• Oversight and management of software licenses for all PDM and CAD tools in partnership with
IT.
• Support users (current and new) with troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with external vendors, and IT, to provide additional CAD, PDM, PLM support when and where required globally.
• Collaborate with the R+D+Engineering teams to establish and maintain CAD standards
• Configuration Management and design data quality control, for validating data accuracy and
transport between PDM and SAP (ERP).
• Lead/coordinate New Item (Part, sub-assy, Assy) release and change control sessions with
Engineering and other groups as needed to maintain and ensure design data quality, for
consumption by downstream operations functions.
• Identify and lead implementing improvement initiatives related to PDM Solidworks, in order to
increase the performance of CAD users, and/or downstream processes that leverage design
data.

Qualifications:
Must-Have Skills:
• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with SolidWorks PDM Administration, and PDM
Vault tools.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience using SolidWorks Professional
• Knowledge of the product development process, material specification data, user role
management and indented/hierarchical product BOM structures.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in English
• Understanding of DFM and DFA principles. Ability to partner with manufacturing and other vault users on how to access various views and data elements. Be able to train and assist on ‘where to find’ needed content, based on a logical information management set-up. (bring a knowledge to Ranpak on how to set-up the structure and workflows optimally, based off previous experience of doing this, for ease of use and consumption).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Certified SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional Administrator (CPAP)
• SAP experience – especially as it relates to the Material Master
• Experience with maintaining data in a ‘multiple vault’ and ‘multiple archive’ set-up as part of a
Global organization.
