Job Title: Senior General Accountant

Department: Administration

Supervisor: Controller

Location: DC, MD; Hybrid

Classification: Exempt/ Salaried

Synopsis: The role of Senior General Accountant is ideal for someone seeking opportunities for growth and development in management. The successful candidate will be responsible for various accounting duties and project management. They should be proficient in Excel, possess excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and be able to create and maintain a team-oriented environment. The Senior General Accountant should also be able to review and analyze current processes for potential improvements, complete assignments with deadlines, and have strong integrity and ethics. As a leader in this position, they will be responsible for general ledger management, fixed asset management, balance sheet preparation, maintenance, and financial reporting. We are looking for a self-motivated, reliable individual interested in joining our rapidly growing organization.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 3+ years of senior-level accounting experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience (not required)
  • Familiarity with accounting and finance principles and procedures
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power BI are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality


Essential Job Functions:

· Manage month-end close process.

· Applies a broad knowledge of accounting methods and procedures.

· Performs general ledger balance sheet reconciliations and verifies the accuracy of data.

· Year End Audits.

· Fixed Assets.

· Grant management and reporting.

· Responsible for Bank Account Reconciliation.

· Responsible for Credit Card Reconciliation.

· Support monthly and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet, account reconciliations, and accruals.

· Responding to information requests and assisting with audits.

· Analyze and summarize account information and trends.

· Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to controller and CFO as needed.
  • Assist with other reporting requirements.
  • Assist with occupancy and communications and other allocations in accounting software.
  • Compliance with HIPAA and PHI regulations
  • Follow and uphold La Clinica’s policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure La Clinica’s mission and values.
  • Department projects and other duties as assigned.

Performance Evaluation: to be performed at the end of the 90-day probationary period and annually thereafter.
