Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith, PLC seeks an attorney with 2-4 years of defense litigation experience to join our quickly expanding team in Ft. Lauderdale handling: insurance defense, auto and premises liability, construction defect cases, 3rd party property, breach of contract, constitutional defense, trucking and transportation litigation.

Compensation:

$90,000+ commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:
  • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations
  • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
  • Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
  • Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
Qualifications:
  • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
  • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA)
  • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base
  • Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
  • Candidates must have passed the bar exam
