Job DescriptionJob Description

POSITION: The Van Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of vehicles assigned to Community Support Services and the daily transporting of clients to and from various activities and/or appointments.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a safe driving record. No more than 1 moving violation in the past 5 years. It is necessary to have and maintain a valid driver's license. No previous suspension of driver's license within the last three years. Act 33 and 34 Clearances required. Must maintain current driver's license and vehicle insurance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Transporting CCC clients from their homes to CCC and related services/appointments.

  1. Receive assignments from the CSS Office Coordinator by phone and by posted schedule on daily basis.

  1. Insure that passengers observe van safety procedures and van passenger responsibilities at all times per CCC's

Policies and Procedures.


  1. Delivering inter-office mail as scheduled below to and from sites:

(A) daily-Hermitage office, Group Homes, & Residential Services.


(B) two times per week - Mercer county MH/MR Office.


  1. Mail must always be hand delivered to the designated person at each site or left in their mailboxes.

  1. Participate in all training programs as assigned by the Director of Community Support Services to insure

safety of the vehicle and/or clients.


  1. Maintains daily mileage and service log.

  1. Notify supervisor of any/all vehicle problems within 12 hours of their occurrence.

  1. Take vehicle to: regular maintenance appointments, necessary repairs, and wash/wax visits as scheduled by CSS

Office Coordinator.


  1. Maintains a current CPR and First Aid Certification.

  1. Attend all mandatory in-service/training programs.

  1. Inform supervisor of any accidents, physical/property, and completes an incident report. Also completes an

accident report for any traffic accidents.


  1. Maintain a safe driving record at all times as exhibited by no more than 1 citation for moving violations within a 1

year period.


Maintain and uphold Community Counseling Center's policies, respect confidentiality, and exhibit a professional demeanor at all times while at work.

Any violation of policies and procedures/job duties will be subject to disciplinary action.

Performs other duties assigned.

Can perform the essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodations, if necessary.

Participates in CCC CQI plan to ensure quality of service to CCC consumers

Supervision is received from the Support Services Office Coordinator and assignments are made in the form of specific schedules.
