CONTROLLER

Our firm has partnered with a subsidiary of a fast-growing commercial services company to assist in their search for a Controller to join their management team and help align all operating companies for continued growth. The person hired will help build out the financial operations of the company while ensuring compliance with GAAP. They will report directly to the Vice President, Finance and will be responsible for driving results, minimizing costs, and providing financial direction. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Partner with VP, Finance for this ~$90M million subsidiary of a large PE backed commercial services company to help take them to the next level

Work with operating company Controllers to implement best practices, standardized policies & procedures, and financial controls.

Establish, prepare, and distribute monthly consolidated financial reporting packages

Assist with the development of the quarterly forecast and annual budget process

Provide backup as needed for operating company Controllers

Prepare cash forecasts to ensure proper cash management

Ensure sales tax compliance at all operating companies

Provide information for debt/lender covenants

Present complete and accurate reports to business leaders with follow up and corresponding supporting detail according to specific deadlines

Research issues and ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP

Prepare reports, analyses, and insights needed for management decision making

Provide support for annual audits

Proactively seek process improvement opportunities and implement change

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree in Business with concentration in Accounting, Finance or Economics (18+ hours of accounting)

CPA, CMA, MBA or advanced degree a plus

Minimum 6+ years of relevant accounting and financial experience, including two years of progressive supervisory experience with ability to build & lead a growing team.

Ability to travel as needed to operating companies. Should be ~15-25%

Must be able to handle company growth and take on higher-level responsibilities

Public accounting audit experience a plus

Strong technical GAAP acumen

Solid experience managing close process, general ledger, and financial reporting

Experience developing budgets and forecasts

Microsoft Office suite (advanced Excel proficiency required)

Strong system skills including ERP systems

Ability to communicate financial information effectively

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with positive, service-minded attitude
