least amount of stress to your patients? Dr. Sam’s Veterinary House Calls is a progressive,
growing, privately owned and operated small animal veterinary practice that provides home
visits but also has a standing practice to continue care when care cannot be provided in home.
Our small standing practice is equipped to perform surgeries/dentals in our surgery suite or see
appointments to augment our already thriving house call practice. We are looking for a full-time
or part-time team-oriented, enthusiastic, small animal associate veterinarian who places a priority
on helping to deliver high quality medicine to our patients and a positive relationship to our
clients. Our small team-oriented practice focuses on low stress handling to the benefit of our
patients, clients, and staff. (Most of our team members are low stress handling certified.) Our
small family-oriented team is friendly and positive and try to make the most out of whatever the
day brings us. We love what we do, and we love who we work with, but we still understand the
importance of family and personal time. As a small private practice, this priority to family helps
us balance our lives and therefore helps us to stay mentally healthy so we can continue to
provide the best medicine we can.
Dr. Sam’s Veterinary House Calls is a full-service veterinary practice with a standing clinic
located in the Lehigh Valley (Allentown area) in eastern Pennsylvania. Our medical care
encompasses everything from new puppy/kitten exams, to sick pets, to hospice care. We utilize a
variety of portable diagnostic equipment, including mobile radiographs, mobile ultrasound, and
portable cold therapy laser. Working in home allows us to foster close patient and client
relationships, while our clinic allows us the option to see patients in clinic and to perform
surgeries and procedures.
Our full-time benefits include: medical, dental, and vision coverage, disability insurance,
matching IRA plan, Monday-Friday work week with the flexibility to do either a 4 or 5 day work
schedule for a full time schedule, paid major holidays off, CE allowance, uniform allowance,
paid time off, and a well-trained friendly staff. We encourage continued staff education and
foster a genuine curiosity and love for the veterinary field. We are flexible on compensation but
most of the full time associates choose base compensation with quarterly production. Base
compensation will be based on experience and desired hours that want to be worked. Production
pay is paid quarterly with no accumulated deficit pay.
Qualifications
- Great communications skills, compassion, and the ability to form a friendly professional
rapport with clients
- Team player
- Passionate about providing high quality levels of patient care
- DVM/VMD (Required)
- The flexibility/adaptability to work in the clinic and travel for house calls
Responsibilities
- Your typical day as a hybrid (in clinic and traveling) veterinarian will consist of a house
calls/travel appointments along with “in office” appointment will be pre-arranged and
planned out in an efficient way to minimize stress and complications. Our appointments
range from wellness, to sick patients, to euthanasias.
- Your veterinary nurse will travel along with the doctor to help during appointments,
along with the responsibility of keeping supplies/drugs stocked in vehicle. This will allow
you to focus purely on what you do best, providing veterinary care, enjoying client
interactions, and education.
