Patriot Broadband has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Coax Splicer in Vermont This position is perfect for adventurers who enjoy the outdoors and are excited to be in new surroundings daily. 

Position Overview: As a Coax Splicer, you will support the installation, maintenance, testing, and verification of OSP Hardware and infrastructure. Activities include but are not limited to plant documentation, Radio Frequency (RF) active and passives, reading and understanding OSP diagrams/drawings, and taking and maintaining accurate field notes. Our professionals also operate bucket trucks, perform sweep and balance testing on coaxial cable plant, perform coaxial and fusion splicing, access network enclosures and nodes, and operate testing gear. 

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of standard OSP tools including OTDR's, light meters, and signal strength meters
• Knowledge of OSP construction practices
• Previous coax splicing experience
• Knowledge of cable testing procedures and test equipment
• Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
• Able to read fiber schematics along with HFC maps and design prints
• High level of professionalism, including the ability to successfully navigate various personalities when working with customers, fellow employees, and the public
  
• A technical degree or equivalent training in the Field of Study: CATV Line Maintenance Technician preferred
• Must be able to successfully pass drug screening, physical, and criminal background screening
• Must hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record
  
• Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card
• When business needs require, must have the ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, and off hours
