The Sonnenalp Hotel is looking for a Part-time Seasonal Bartender for our Harvest Restaurant in Edwards.

Wage: $13.00, plus tips

Primary Purpose of Position

The major goal of our Bartending staff is to provide guest satisfaction. It is imperative that all staff members have an intimate knowledge of our beverage and food menus. This knowledge is expected to be passed on to our guests and utilized to maximize sales of wine, beer, liquor, and food. Provide friendly, attentive and timely service to create an exceptional experience for all of our guests. They will prepare drinks for patrons at the bar while also making drinks for servers throughout the restaurant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to available to work through season until October 31st, 2024
  • Take orders from guests and beverage orders from servers.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Restaurant’s standard drink recipes.
  • Learns the names and personally recognize our members.
  • Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system.
  • Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks for bar patrons.
  • Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
  • Present menus, make specific recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages or food items
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
  • Prepare drinks for the entire restaurant
  • Keep inventory of all liquor, wine and bar items

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One-two years of bartending and waiting experience required
  • Friendly, warm and enthusiastic personality

Special Skills/Equipment

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • TIPS certified preferred
  • Drink knowledge required
  • Positive team attitude required
  • Personable disposition which is maintained in pressure situations required
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Knowledge of POS system preferred
  • Able to work a variety of shifts, often late into the evening.
  • Be willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed.
  • Be able to work in a fast paced restaurant environment

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Position primarily performed indoors and outdoors assisting a variety of guests
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Standing for extended periods of time, up to 10 hours at a time
  • Must be able to bend, pour, and reach
