The ideal candidate will assist teachers in the classroom, provide one-on-one support to students, and help create a positive learning environment. This role is essential for enhancing the educational experiences of our students and supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.
Details:
- Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Help prepare instructional materials and classroom activities.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional support and classroom management.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times such as recess, lunch, and field trips.
- Support students with special needs by following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
- Perform clerical tasks such as taking attendance, grading assignments, and organizing classroom supplies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- Associate’s degree, or passing score on a state or local assessment (e.g., ParaPro Assessment)
