Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary:

Therapist - Louisville Center for Eating Disorders, Louisville KY

Who we are looking for:

We are searching for a dedicated, passionate full time therapist to provide evidence-based treatment in our BHSO Licensed and Joint Commission Accredited Eating Disorder facility. We are interested in candidates who provide affirming and trauma informed care, and who are interested in exploring ways to raise awareness of implicit bias and barriers to quality mental health care. Prior training and experience in the provision of evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT and ACT is preferred. While specific training in the treatment of eating disorders is a plus, it is understood that most applicants and new-hires have no previous training in this area.

A full-time therapist would be involved in the following duties, tasks, responsibilities, and capacities:

  • Provide intake assessments to inform treatment plans
  • Participation across Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient programs, to include meal therapy, group therapy, family and individual therapy sessions.
  • Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches in individual and group formats (couples and family formats are also available).
  • Follow Joint Commission and State BHSO License and accreditation policies
  • Attend interdisciplinary treatment teams and engage in regular consultation and training to build and develop competency in treatment approaches
  • Participation in trainings and willingness to grow in knowledge of evidence-based treatments across a range of diverse populations (e.g., children, older adults)
  • Ability to be flexible with a caseload that includes children, adolescents, and adults
  • Willingness to work with a diverse population of individuals
  • Proper storage of private and sensitive patient information

Other requirements and preferences are as follows:

  • Applicants must have 2 years relevant work experience with at least a Masters in their respective field (e.g. LPA, LPC, PhD, PsyD.).
  • Preference for a start date asap, though we are flexible given fit for the position
  • Available 8am-4pm PM M-F

What we are offering:

The clinic has a well respected reputation in the state for providing empirically supported psychological services that are specialized and patient-centered. Louisville Center for Eating Disorders (LCED) is active in ongoing research with local universities to further advance the provision of evidence-based therapies, and extend the reach of specialists to treat these conditions effectively. Several therapists sit on state council boards such as Kentucky Eating Disorder Council and Kentucky Psychological Association. Clinicians are seen regularly at outreach events and professional conferences as keynote and expert presenters.

We offer training from clinical staff members who are experts in the field, as well as monthly didactic training, weekly consultation teams, and access to a comprehensive digital library of treatment manuals, workbooks, handouts, and peer-reviewed journal articles. It is our goal to support your development as a specialist in the provision of evidence-based therapies for Eating Disorders and comorbid diagnosis.
