Pay: $76,960 to $81,120 per year

Our facility is dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care in a same-day outpatient setting, catering to both adult and pediatric populations.

Job Description:

As a Certified Surgical Technician at our center, you will be an integral member of the surgical team. Under the direction of a registered nurse, you will assist in planning and delivering safe, therapeutic, and age-specific care. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide the surgical team with necessary instruments, sutures, special equipment, and materials needed for surgery, maintaining strict aseptic technique.
• Assist in circulating to obtain instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of surgical procedures and the scrub tech role, including equipment usage and surgical environment protocols.
• Assemble supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures in accordance with physician preference cards.
• Participate in performance improvement activities that impact patient and service outcomes.
• Attend required safety training programs and adhere to safety protocols.
• Maintain and update instrument cards, tray lists, and surgeon preference cards.
• Follow center exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
• Report any observed or suspected breaches in sterile technique according to policy.
• Maintain professional behavior and respect the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, ensuring a responsible and courteous environment.
• Promote effective working relationships and contribute to team efforts to achieve center goals.
• Handle, clean, and sterilize instruments and equipment as directed.

Educational Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Surgical Technology Program (Required)
• Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (Required)
• Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of hospital experience (Required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in orthopedics (Required)
• Preferred: 2-3 years in a Surgical Technologist role
