Position Summary
ClearChoice/Aspen Laboratory Technicians, following the clinical direction of the treating Doctors, organize the work of the Laboratory to optimize productivity and fabricate quality prosthetic products to provide the best fit, functionality, and aesthetically pleasing dentures for our patients. Laboratory Technicians partner with the Office team to help patients get the care they need and fulfill our mission to give America a healthy mouth.

ClearChoice/Aspen Laboratory Technicians work onsite at the dentist office to fill prescriptions from those dentists. They use advanced technical skills to construct sophisticated implant-based dental prosthetics to exacting standards for fit and esthetics and use critical thinking to develop and share complex solutions with the dentist and auxiliary staff. While work methods follow established best practices, candidates are expected to follow the direction of their doctors and team while using a high degree of judgment on a patient-by-patient basis.

Essential Responsibilities
  • ClearChoice/Aspen Laboratory Technician Trainees (Lab Tech I) will work under the supervision of the Lead Technician/ Lab Manager at the assigned practice and be trained in the areas of dental technology for career advancement. While work methods follow established best practice, candidates are expected to follow the direction of their doctors and lead technician while using a high degree of judgment to ensure a successful outcome of the Pouring of dental impressions and mounting of casts using semi-adjustable dental articulators
  • Scanning of dental casts and devices using advanced 3-D scanners for digital workflows
  • Operation of 3-D printers for production of dental devices
  • Processing of acrylic resins using injection systems
  • Use of dental laboratory equipment such as hand tools, dental lathes, model trimmer, rotary handpieces, steamers, light-cure units, and pressure pots
  • Use of dental laboratory materials such as plasters, gypsum, waxes, metals, acrylic, and composite materials
  • Understand and reinforce Infection Control practices, HIPAA, PHI, and OSHA Safety Compliance Standards

ClearChoice/Aspen Laboratory Technician Is and IIs will be responsible for the below duties with increasing levels of technical skills based on skillset and experience.
  • Fabricates quality prosthetic denture products, repairs, relines and rebases according to established procedures and under the clinical direction of the treating Doctor.
  • Optimizes laboratory production by organizing and prioritizing daily work and following the denture scheduler.
  • Follows quality standards to reduce remakes and patient satisfaction issues.
  • Partners with the treating Doctors and Office team to meet denture delivery dates.
  • Completes required case shipping and receiving points.
  • Performs general equipment maintenance and reports and follows-up on equipment malfunctions or necessary repairs with the Office Manager.
  • Follows housekeeping guidelines to maintain a neat and orderly Laboratory.
  • Complies with established health and safety regulations, including the use of required personal protective equipment and engineering controls.
  • Pouring of dental impressions and mounting of casts using semi-adjustable dental articulators
  • Scanning of dental casts and devices using advanced 3-D scanners for digital workflows
  • Operation of 3-D printers for production of dental devices
  • Competence with the conversion of a full-arch denture into an implant-based prostheses
  • Working knowledge of fundamental occlusal principles, schemes, and classifications
  • Processing of acrylic resins using injection systems
  • Use of dental laboratory equipment such as hand tools, dental lathes, model trimmer, rotary handpieces, steamers, light-cure units, and pressure pots
  • Use of dental laboratory materials such as plasters, gypsum, waxes, metals, acrylic, and composite materials
Qualifications (Lab Tech II)
Lab Tech IIs will meet the minimum qualifications of the Lab Tech I in addition to the following:
  • Current Dental Technician Certification (CDT) or a graduate from an accredited dental laboratory technology program preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience in a dental laboratory
  • Must demonstrate their abilities through the completion of a hands-on practical examination where they may be asked to perform model pouring, articulations, etc. according to company protocols within allotted time periods.
  • Knowledge of dental implant systems is a plus
  • Ability to wax full-arch restorations. A basic understanding of tooth setting and arrangement of full-arch and full-mouth restorations
Strong communication, organization, and computer skills are required.
 

Compensation and Benefits: $26 - $32 an hour DOE

Relocation assistance also available for the right candidate
