Cosmetology Instructor

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Description: Avery James School of Cosmetology is seeking a highly motivated, professional individual with a passion for teaching to join our team as a Full-Time Cosmetology Instructor.As a Cosmetology Instructor at Avery James School of Cosmetology, you will have the opportunity to invest your knowledge and applicable life experiences as it relates to hairstyling, haircutting, chemical, manicuring, and facial services.Duties and Responsibilities:Learning and adapting the course curriculum,
Setting out lesson plans,
Mentoring students and providing additional support when needed,
Overseeing examinations and final practical tests,
Providing course feedback to the Director,
Maintain accurate and up-to-date classroom records.Required Skills and Abilities:Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, or other related software.Must be able to work effectively as part of a team.Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with staff and students.Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time for the purpose of observing and instructing students.
Requirements:
Must have a current and valid Cosmetologist license in the state of Louisiana.
Must have a current and valid Cosmetologist Instructor license in the state of Louisiana.Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.Maintain continuing education hours as required by the state
Experience is preferred, but not required.This position is eligible for comprehensive benefits after successfully completing the first 90 days of employment.
The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
