Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGordy’s is seeking a Full-time, year-round, Marine Technician for our new service location in Ixonia, WI.Founded in 1955, in Fontana, WI, Gordy’s started as a boat rental and service company and has grown to a multi-location, diverse full-service boat company. Gordy’s has built its reputation on excellent customer service and the Marine Technician must be committed to continuing the tradition of excellence. The Marine Technician should work well under pressure, be organized, willing to work long hours including weekends (when needed) and have a positive attitude toward staff, management, and ownership.We’ll pay you what you’re WORTH. PLUS, MORE (Based on MRAA/Industry standards.) DUTIES:
  • Major/minor mechanical diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance on boats that include new but are not limited to Cobalt, Malibu/Axis, Everglades, Berkshire and Premier pontoons.
  • New/used boat cleaning, prep, and rigging.
  • Installation of accessories.
  • Warranty repair work.
  • Pre-sale and post service inspections.
§ Service Administrationo Document all customer repair needs on a service repair order.o Reviews all manufacturer service bulletins.o Provides suggestions for continuous improvement.o Furnish own hand tools essential for the job. Specialty tools to be provided by Gordy’sSKILLS AND ABILITIES:§ Boat service tech experience not required, but preferred.§ Basic computer skills mandatory, familiarity with Salesforce and Dockmaster a plus.
  • Mechanically inclined and possessing a team centric inclined mindset – if you like working on vehicles of any kind, you’ll succeed with us
  • Fiberglass repair experience, to include mixing and applying paint, wax, and gel coats, preferred but not required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • A willingness to give and receive constructive feedback.
