Road Mechanic

Berg Construction is a locally owned and operated excavation company. We are currently growing and are looking to hire a Road Mechanic/Service Technician to join our Team. The Road Mechanic responds to service calls, to diagnose and repair heavy equipment and trucks, in a safe manner to allow our field personnel to return to work. This position works away from the shop most of the time.

The Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues on automotive, heavy trucks and a variety of construction equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Travel to work sites to complete repairs on various types of equipment
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and diesel systems
• Provide on-site personnel basic training, as needed
• Other duties, as assigned by Management

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years' preferred experience with heavy construction equipment
• Ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems
• Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
• Have a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety
• Must have basic set of mechanic's hand tools
• Must be able to work on several types and brands of equipment
• Valid Driver's License, CDL preferred but not required
• Must be able to pass drug test and background check
• A good attitude
