Founded in Boston, MA in 1902 by Reverend Edgar J Helms, Goodwill has been providing opportunities for men and women across America and around the world ever since. Goodwill Industries of Akron was established in 1927 in a one-room salon at the corner of Howard and Furnace Streets as a branch of Goodwill Industries of Cleveland. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CUTTER/GARMENT CUTTER/FABRIC CUTTER

Operate various cutters and cloth drill. Make patterns and marks for various jobs. Assist department in material handling and shipping/receiving functions. Layout and cut material for sewing machine operators. Ensure punctual work completion.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CUTTER/GARMENT CUTTER/FABRIC CUTTER

  • Must have a physician-certified disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act per the requirements of Goodwill's State Use Contracts
  • Extensive knowledge in sewing operations and different sewing machines
  • Maintain daily production log
  • Meet production standards for assigned jobs
