Your role at BHSN:
The essential duties and responsibilities outlined in this job description are to be conducted in addition to your essential duties and responsibilities as a Behavioral Interventionist. The Behavioral Interventionist provides direct clinical services including, rapid crisis response and coordination. At the discretion of the program director, may assist with orientation and instruction of other staff on non-clinical matters as deemed appropriate. Provides excellent client care and compassion in every encounter, as is consistent with the organization’s core values.

What your day might look like:
- Provides direct clinical services to clients to the extent permitted by law, including individual, family, and group therapies, and crisis intervention
- Conducts initial evaluations and identifies critical impairments that become the focus of treatment for effective planning and implementation of treatment
- Develops clear treatment strategies based on specific needs of each consumer and composed as a formal treatment plan and presents plan to the treatment team and consumer
- Participates in care planning and coordination meetings to facilitate care process. As assigned, sees individuals who are an immediate crisis to reduce emergency visits and/or inpatient admissions
- Performs other duties as required
Your skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Degree or significant experience in human services field
- Knowledge of substance abuse issues including features of alcohol and various drug abuse signs and symptoms, intervention strategies, and awareness of associated medical concerns
- Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required for local and regional travel
