Job DescriptionJob Description

Summary:

The vehicle/equipment operator utilizes vehicles and/or equipment in the performance of assigned tasks. The operator is responsible for the safe and efficient use of equipment following standard operating procedures. Tasks shall be performed safely to avoid danger to self, co-workers, and equipment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive truck equipped with sprinkling attachment to settle dust on roadways and streets.
  • Conduct equipment inspections on all assigned equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs and/or maintenance as needed to assigned equipment.
  • Experience with basic tools, and be mechanically inclined.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Maintain equipment and tools.
  • Lead and exemplify safe working practices.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • CDL with Tanker endorsement required
  • Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred
  • Clean Driving Record
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Demonstrate competence necessary to perform the work.
  • Construction Site Experience preferred.
  • 4 years experience driving trucks

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

All of the work is performed in the field. Will be required to perform physical labor; at times, carry up to 50 lbs and assist others in carrying objects greater than 50 lbs. The position requires the unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back, visual acuity, depth, and color perception
