Gator Dredging - Off-Road Dump Truck Operator Position

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Off-Road Dump Truck Operator to join our growing team Excellent benefits, vacation, sick and holiday paid time off. Must have at least 2 years of experience operating an Off-Road Dump Truck.

Gator Dredging (the leading dredging company in the state of Florida) is actively seeking qualified people to join our ever-growing team

Job Responsibilities for The Off-Road Dump Truck Driver:

  • Operate Off-Road trucks to transport and /or stockpile sand, dirt, aggregate, and other materials and/or equipment to various locations on the job site.
  • Maintaining the machine you drive, checking oil and water, performing safety evaluations, and following directions to haul and dump loads accordingly.
  • Performing manual labor and other related duties as necessary on the job site.
  • Working outdoors in potentially wet and dusty conditions, and
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Help identify hazardous conditions on the job site.
  • Maintaining a daily truck log and other important paperwork
  • Clean trucks as scheduled and/or required.
  • Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
  • Report any damage immediately to the supervisor.

Qualifications for The Off-Road Dump Truck Driver:

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience operating an Off-Road Dump Truck.
  • Must be able to travel out of town.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team.
  • MUST be motivated and able to work independently.
  • Experience operating an excavator and other construction equipment a plus.
  • Previous dredging experience a plus.
  • A valid driver's license must be maintained throughout employment.
  • OSHA Certification a plus

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use sit, use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will reach with hands, may need to work with hand underwater without seeing; Occasionally will stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell.
  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 50 pounds.
