Quality Control Manager

Summary
The QC Manager is responsible for technical support to all areas of the Battery Assembly Plant and providing leadership and guidance to the QC Team Members.
Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)
- Manage technical support to all areas of the plant in assessment, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Systems that meet or exceed customer and TS16949 standards
- Develop, manage & achieve the company's quality initiatives including, but not limited to TS/ISO certification and maintenance & improvement of current quality systems
- Manage processing, approve documentation, & provide instruction regarding PPAP process to customer(s)
- Interface with process engineering, manufacturing plant, and customer on new product/process launches
- Manage evaluation method regarding nonconforming material and review reporting on quality problems or trends for suppliers
- Manage control of product quality through the development and use of P-FMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Charts, SPC, Operator Work Instructions, and Quality Alerts
- Manage direction of addressing supplier quality issues as required.
- Manage internal LPA (Layered Process Audit) and follow up regarding findings to correct responsible parties
- Manage establishment of effective corrective action (8D or 5-Why) to address defective quality in all products. Ensure all internal and external communications are delivered in a timely manner
- Make final quality decisions on products of questionable quality based on the part print, specifications, fit and functionality of the part as well as the customer requirements
- Manage containment procedure for questionable product quality. This includes customer driven sorts and internal sorts
- Approve rework procedures for questionable product quality
- Read and interpret drawings and manufacturing aides
- Coordinate & perform process audit for supplier qualification or process changes
- Approve charge back claim/reclaim for quality lost time on product line or OEM & provide instruction for revision
- Manage the calibration program which includes gages, check fixtures, and other measuring devices
- Comply with and provide safety in the work place, to include attendance at safety meetings as well as conduct safety meetings when necessary
- Support HOD for strategy planning, KPI management, Budget, BP, and HQ requirement
- Aggregate key reporting materials / Hosting and operating quality meetings
- Responsible for managing the overtime hours of their staff.

Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
- 8+ years experience in Automotive Manufacturing/Assembly/Quality
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proficient Skills using Excel/PowerPoint
- Proficient Presentation skills
- Proficient communication skills using various technical terms
- Proficient automotive knowledge (repair, assembly)
- Self-motivated & works rapidly under pressure and time constraints
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bilingual (English/Korean) is preferred
- 6 Sigma Black Belt preferred

Working Conditions: Shared time between office and production floor, traverse around the production floor, inspect processes and parts, communicate with multiple levels of team members, determine and detect quality defects, lift 20-30 lbs.
