Job Summary

This position is responsible to assist the Public Works Department - Facilities Division with the planning and coordination of maintenance/service and repair all of city-owned Heating and Cooling equipment. The work is performed under the direction of the Internal Services Supervisor and Facilities Foreman.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma in HVAC.
  • Minimum of (3) years of HVAC Install experience; both retro-fit and new construction
  • Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record for eligibility of City coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPA Universal certification preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of geothermal well systems.

Salary & Benefits

The position is a full time, non-exempt/hourly position. The pay rate will be $34.36 per hour (~$71,468.80 annually) which is anticipated to increase retroactively to 5/1/2024 following contract negotiations with Local 150 for a successor contract. Additionally, an excellent benefits package is provided including, but not limited to, group health insurance and IMRF pension.
