The Drawing Release Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of technical drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and associated documentation. In this position, you will become the bridge between engineering and the production floor by ensuring all release tasks are completed accurately and timely.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Drawing Verification and Correction by reviewing engineering drawings for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to design standards.
  • Identify any discrepancies or errors and collaborate with design teams to correct them.
  • Verify BOMs against design specifications, ensuring consistency and completeness and correct any inaccuracies or discrepancies.
  • Load approved BOMs into our MRP system, maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure seamless material flow.
  • Coordinate the release of technical drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents.
  • Ensure timely distribution to stakeholders, including manufacturing, quality control, and suppliers.
  • Work closely with our document control and engineering teams to integrate drawings and requirements into relevant systems (e.g., PLM, ERP).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • SOLIDWORKS
  • Drawings and Tolerances application/review
  • GD&T preferred by not required.
  • Bill of Material (Engineering BOM vs Manufacturing BOM)
  • MRP/ERP

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering
  • 3 years of experience in a business supporting heavy manufacturing.
    ***10 years manufacturing experience in the engineering department in lieu of degree

Key Competencies

  • Ability to review and approve engineering prints.
  • Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP type systems
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional Communication skills


Supervisory Responsibility –
this position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment – this job operates mostly in an office setting with some time spent on the shop floor.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, this schedule may vary based on the needs of the department and may change as required based on job duties demand.

Travel – This position may require travel from time to time.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications – Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
