We are seeking for a VP of IT Software Development and Business Systems to lead the team accountable for all CareDx business systems IT software development including the company’s LIMS software and other business applications supporting the clinical lab, bioinformatics, HR, finance, manufacturing, commercial, and all other operational systems at CareDx. This position will supervise a team of software engineers engaged in ongoing back-to-back project and program related software releases and technical systems support staff responsible for ensuring ongoing uninterrupted operation of a 24X7 Clinical Laboratory and business applications enterprise wide. The role requires frequent interactions with cross functional program teams, key stakeholders, and executive management. Success in the role will require exceptional technical, organizational, prioritization, leadership, facilitation, and communication skills. Expect to be challenged and to use all your skills and experience in an environment of continued exponential growth. The role reports into CareDx CIO and CISO.

Responsibilities include, but not necessarily limited to:

  • All aspect of IT software development supporting business applications
  • LIMS and integrating multiple systems experience in regulated environment such as STARLIMS, Billing, and foreign electronic health records systems
  • Hands on workflow, process engineering and application development experience to help optimize, implement, and institutionalize processes while meeting the regulatory requirements
  • Cloud, SaaS, on-premises, hybrid, and 3rd party application implementation and configuration experience
  • Collaborate with R&D and Bioinformatics teams to help grow product pipeline
  • Ability to manage Digital transformation and development enterprise applications and re-platforming
  • Comfortable making decisions and leading the teams in ambiguous situation
  • Consultative management and solution provider mindset and a change agent

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Science
  • Minimum of 10 years of software development experience, preferably in Life Sciences or Medical Device environment
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing software development teams and technical support organizations
  • Demonstrated success in a fast paced, high stress environment (Ability to lead and stay calm under pressure)
  • Demonstrated success in abstract and concrete software architecture and design
  • Demonstrated success in project and cross functional program management
  • Impeccable problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Impeccable technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience and skills
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (SOX, FDA, IVDR, HIPPAA, PII, CLIA, CAP, etc.)
  • Proven ability to drive a culture of quality and personal accountability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence strategy, tactics at the highest levels
  • Experience with Clarity, StarLIMS, Oracle, JBoss, WebSphere, Outsystems, Saleforce.com, Mulesoft, Kubernetes, SOA, Micro Services, Spring Boot, Node JS, Rest, SOAP
  • Preferred candidate will have a good understanding of IT discipline (Cloud offerings (IBM, AWS, Azure), VMWare, Server (Windows, Unix, Linux), Storage, Network
  • Experience working with next generation sequencing (NGS) data and pipelines is a plus
  • Develop future roadmap for LIMS and related systems, collaborate with stakeholders to achieve cross-functional system impact.
  • Drive communication consensus with key internal and external customers, ELT, SaaS providers, and partners regarding applications.
  • Project and program management as required to meet the need and fill gaps
  • Recruiting, people management (manage, mentor, develop), team building
  • Capacity planning across needs of disparate stakeholders and customer groups
  • Budgeting, Purchase Orders, Licensing and tracking of burn rate and expenditures
  • Business analysis, requirements, architecture design and development as required
  • 24X7 technical systems Clinical Laboratory trouble shooting and support
