Job Summary
The Portfolio Banker is responsible to prepare the file for underwriting, documentation, and loan closing. A liaison person to coordinate internally and externally to ensure loans are boarded in a timely manner.
Essential Job Functions
- Work closely with account officer and underwriter to ensure all documents needed for closing the loan have been received and reviewed for compliance with credit approval memo and program requirements.
- Collect and order documents from various parties according to checklist and credit approval memo including entity documents, title documents, escrow related documents, compliance documents, credit report, insurance evidence, flood certification, UCC statement, estoppel certificates, SNDA, etc.
- Assist to engage appraisal, appraisal review, and environmental from approved vendors.
- Review all documents and forms to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Timely upload all documents to database and update Loan Vantage / Loan Status Log.
- Complete CIP / CDD forms (Customer Identification Program / Customer Due Diligence).
- Perform initial review of loan documents.
- Ensure final loan documents and forms are properly executed, recorded, and delivered as appropriates.
- Respond to customers inquiries, bank reference, and CPA verification requests.
- Send out loan past due emails at the 5th and 10th days after payment due date.
- Provide excellent customer service to assist customers’ needs and answer questions.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, with a focus in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
- Detail oriented with an aptitude for business and customer interaction.
- Must be efficient with cooperative work habits, while managing time to account for sudden fast-paced work environment.
- Proficient with business office and computer programs such as Word and Excel.
- Minimum one-year experience with commercial real estate as loan assistant, loan closer, or portfolio banker.
Knowledge:
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to speak Korean a plus

Education:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
