Pay Rate: $17.00 to $23.00
Responsibilities
- Effectively set up bakery products for The Bistro Restaurant & Wine Bar ensuring that all dessert items are adequately stocked up
- Check daily dessert menu items ensuring introduction of daily dessert specials as per recipe standards and all prep work is ready
- Maintain effective communication with Pastry Chef for any changes to Dessert Menu
- Coordinate with Pastry Chef ensuring all ingredients are available for dessert preparation
- Prepare all dessert items in accordance with Mirbeau recipes and specifications for all outlets in a timely manner
- Maintain a high degree of cleanliness and sanitation, both personally and in work area
- Scaling and production of doughs, quick breads, crumbles, batters, and flour mixes.
- Properly handle and store desserts to prevent spoilage and waste
- Prepare desserts for all special occasions, weddings, birthdays, etc. for Catering Department
- Perform any other tasks as directed by Pastry Chef / Chef de Cuisine
- Define and recommend any and all ideas, problems, and solutions to improve the productivity of pastry department
- Report to work in well groomed, in a clean uniform at the scheduled time
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
Qualifications, Skills & Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma
- at least 1 year in a pastry Kitchen
- Eager to learn
- Basic Math Skills
- Strong Organizational Skills
- Attention to Detail
- Clear understanding of standard operating procedures
- Problem solver
- Quick learner
