Harrison Gray Search has partnered with one of the largest electrical contractors in the southeast to help them find a BIM Specialist.


Purpose of Position:


The VDC/BIM Specialist is responsible for performing the modeling and coordination assigned by the Lead VDS/BIM Specialist and VDC/BIM Manager for design/build, design/assist, and any other traditional construction-type project requiring design or BIM services.This opportunity would be hybrid in North Carolina (offices in Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro).


Scope and Accountability


The VDC/BIM Specialist is responsible for completing assigned tasks by the Lead VDC/BIM Specialist and VDC/BIM Manager and is also responsible for maintaining and enhancing our client's professional image.


Job Functions (Essential Functions):


  1. Modeling and coordinating electrical systems (raceways, supports, and electrical equipment) to provide a fully constructable installation.
  2. Compare submittals to what is modeled.
  3. Create coordination and spool drawings for installation and prefabrication.
  4. Work under the direction of Lead VDC/BIM Specialist and VDC/BIM Manager.
  5. Routinely meet with the Lead VDC/BIM Specialist to verify the work performed is appropriate and completed promptly.
  6. Maintain relationships with others in the organization to provide for a positive work climate.
  7. Assume other duties as directed by appropriate authorities.
  8. Adherence to our client's policies and procedures, including Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.


Job Specifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities)


  1. Proficient in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  2. Drafting and BIM software (NavisWorks, Revit, AutoCAD).
  3. Knowledge of electrical installation (preferred).
  4. Ability to focus, organize, and prioritize essential functions of this job to meet deadlines.
  5. Ability to foster and maintain teamwork skills.
  6. Develop proficient and professional communication skills.
  7. Able to adjust and be flexible to sudden demands.


Our client has a business casual working environment.Normal office hours are 8 am 5 pm but can be somewhat flexible.

Education, Experience, and/or Prerequisites Required:


  1. Electrical installation knowledge; field experience strongly preferred.
