Job Description:
We are currently seeking a full-time Perioperative RN to join our team. The Perioperative RN will assess the perioperative needs of individual patients including but not limited to adult, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients. They will provide competent and skilled nursing care to patients before, during and after surgical procedures. The staff nurse will utilize the nursing process for patient care in all surgical specialties supported by The Black Canyon Surgical Center.

Duties:
  • Uses acceptable standards of practice based on nursing process care to provide the individual/family/group with identified perioperative needs.
  • Coordinates care of the individual/family/group based on AORN Standards of Care.
  • Is accountable for ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to nursing within the scope of practice.
  • During the pre, intra and post-op phase, coordinates the activities of the room, assembles necessary equipment, delegates activities to other team members, implements the nursing process and care, serves as a patient advocate, assures a safe environment for the patient, completes documentation accurately, completes a correct sponge, needle and instrument count, informs PACU of special needs.
Occupational Exposure: Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards.

Qualifications: Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado, BLS, PALS, AND ACLS certification required within 6 months, demonstrates ability to stand and/or walk at least five hours per day, demonstrates ability to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis, demonstrates ability to push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis.

Experience: Orientation is based on knowledge and experience. BLS, ACLS & PALS required within 6 months. One year of acute care experience is required. Experience as a circulating nurse preferred.

Job Knowledge: Encompass a wide range of nursing, psycho-social and medical information which includes nursing process, communication and problem solving, assessment and prioritizing skills.

Salary Range: $33.15 - $47.55/hr. $5000 SIGN ON BONUS Compensation for this role will depend on a number of factors, including candidates qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
