In a fast-paced environment, this position is an integral part of the process by spraying surfaces of cabinets, doors, wood components and related items with paint.

This employee must be competent and comprehend complex operations. Being a team player is essential since all tasks require collaboration with co-workers.

The goal is to ensure production procedures are carried out safely and smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits while maintaining a high-quality finish and quality of work.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Consistent, high quality finish is a must. Sprays cabinet parts with stain, paint or topcoat for a high quality finish
  • Maintains spray equipment to ensure working properly and at designated pressures/specs; notifies Supervisor immediately otherwise
  • Perform routine maintenance of spray equipment as needed
  • Ensures safe use of equipment
  • Setup and clean spray equipment and spray booth
  • Properly mixes paint
  • Assists in timely ordering of materials to complete jobs on time
  • Sands cabinets prior to finishing
  • Smooth, shape and clean surfaces to prepare for spraying
  • Spraying of rework cabinets and any miscellaneous rework parts
  • Inspect, touch up and buff finished product to desired quality
  • Maintains records of materials, orders, and rework production as it comes through the booth
  • Ensures final products meet high-quality standards
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks; assists other team members to keep production line going
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Ability to work efficiently and safely by maintaining production standards and work towards improving productivity without compromising safety and quality
  • Extensive knowledge of paints, stains and topcoats used in a high production spray finishing environment
  • Knowledge of spray equipment (spray guns, gravity, and air assisted, airless, conventional)
  • Ability to adjust to spraying different materials (stain, topcoat, paint, etc.)
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting and meet cycle time requirements
  • Attention to detail and safety with ability to identify imperfections when spraying and correcting
  • Ability to differentiate colors
  • Knowledge of paint mixing
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulations
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of PPE gear)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work and communicate well with others
  • Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach

  • Must be a least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years spraying experience or basic spraying techniques (trainable)
