This role involves reviewing stock inconsistencies, managing the return of materials from production, adjusting inventory records, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth inventory operations. The specialist will perform cycle counts, assist with problem-solving related to materials, and contribute to maintaining an organized and safe work environment.
Highly motivated with a strong desire to excel and work independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Exceptional work ethic and dedication that supports the company goals around its safety, production, quality, and on-time delivery requirements.
Essential Job Functions:                                                                                          
  • Stock Inconsistency Review:
    •    Regularly review and analyze stock discrepancies.
    •    Investigate the root cause of inconsistencies and take corrective actions.
  • Return Material Management:
    •    Collect return material from production.
    •    Process and document returned materials accurately.
  • Inventory Adjustments:
    •    Make necessary adjustments to inventory records based on returned materials and discrepancies.
    •    Ensure all adjustments are properly documented and authorized.
  • Cycle Counts:
    •    Conduct regular inventory cycle counts.
    •    Reconcile counted inventory with system records and investigate any variances.
 
  • Floor Inventory Counts:
    •    Collaborate with supervisors to perform floor inventory counts.
    •    Assist in resolving any issues identified during counts.
 
  • Material Problem Solving:
    •    Work with various departments to address and resolve material-related problems.
    •    Implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.
 
  • Department 5S Maintenance:
    •    Maintain and promote the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) within the department.
    •    Ensure a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
 
  • Variance Reduction:
    •    Assist in identifying and reducing job material transaction variances.
    •    Develop and implement strategies to minimize variances.
 
  • Safety and Near Miss Reporting:
    •     Report and document safety incidents and near misses.
    •     Participate in safety meetings and initiatives to promote a safe working environment.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent.  Previous quality experience may replace degree requirements.
  • Stays abreast of appropriate or emerging quality initiatives and drives development and implementation of best practices.
  • Experience with computerized inventory systems ERP required.
  • Forklift operator certification preferred.
