Responsibility for incoming inspection, monitoring production process inspections, final inspections, and gage calibration program with the focus on continually improving the processes in these areas. This position will act in support of manufacturing on a daily basis, working to identify opportunities for enhancing processes and reducing nonconformance.Responsibilities:
- Perform incoming inspection and work to continually improve the effectiveness of this process
- Perform final inspections on engines, new products, and significant product kits
- Assist in the development, and implementation of site-level manufacturing quality processes within their areas of responsibility
- Manage the gage lab including calibration process and schedule
- Provide inspection support to NPD projects
- Initiate corrective actions to correct process/part quality deficiencies
- Participate in problem solving to identify root cause and corrective action
- Participate in discussions with suppliers
- Follow-up on findings from inspections performed on the company product line to ensure proper responses and closure in an orderly and timely fashion
- Promote the quality message, wherever possible both externally and internally
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
- Actively challenge existing processes to drive simplification and improvement
- Conduct outbound shipping audits
- 3+ years performing responsibilities typically associated with a quality inspector position
- 3+ years experience in inspecting machined parts with a variety of hand held gages
- 2+ years of experience with ISO9001 preferred
- Proficiency in software applications (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, industry codes, and ISO regulations
- Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of employees
- RCA/troubleshooting experience
- Proven attention to detail
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, communication and personal organization skills
- Capable of analyzing data to make sound decisions on suitability and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions
- Self-motivated, self-starter capable of remaining flexible to changing work priorities
