Job Overview
The Handy Automotive Group, is currently seeking motivated individuals to join our Porter Team As a family owned and operated dealership, we are committed to the professional growth and success of our employees. The porter will be responsible for performing a variety of duties as it relates to the maintenance and service of vehicles. This positon interacts daily with the Service managers, support staff and customers, just to name a few. From promptly greeting customers, to performing santization requirements, the main goal of the porter is to make the customer feel welcome and provide direction to the next available service advisor. Our ideal candidate will be professional, friendly, be self-motivated, able to keep up with our busy service department, and take pride in a job well done.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Greeting the service department customers within 30 seconds of their arrival in the service lane.
- Perform all the appropriate sanitization and vehicle prep operations (seat cover/floor mat/steering wheel cover) to ensure that the vehicle is ready to enter the service process.
- At the end of the transaction, the porter will do a quick cleanliness check and torque wheels.
- Check to make sure wash fluid is full, and unwrap the car for the customer, performing the requisite wipe-down at the same time per sanitization protocol.
- Other duties include but not limited to: maintaining lane cleanliness; customer pick up/drop off; driving/ moving customer cars; removing snow from sidewalks/cars to allow for service department operation.
- We reserve the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet business and organizational needs as necessary.
Preferred Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- 1-3 years of customer service skills.
- Must be able to get in and out of vehicles, bend, stand, and life up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work cooperatively with all other staff.
- Though we are seeking 1-3 years’ experience, training will be provided for the right candidate
