Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Fire Sprinkler Inspector with Backflow and Fire Extinguisher Certifications to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functionality, maintenance, and compliance of fire sprinkler systems, backflow prevention devices, and fire extinguishers. This role requires a strong understanding of fire safety regulations, inspection techniques, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire Sprinkler Inspections:
Conduct thorough inspections of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Identify and document deficiencies, potential hazards, and corrective actions needed for fire sprinkler systems.
Perform functional tests on various components of fire sprinkler systems, including alarms, valves, and pumps.
Backflow Prevention Device Inspections:
Perform routine inspections and tests on backflow prevention devices to ensure proper operation and compliance with local and state regulations.
Identify and address any issues related to backflow prevention, including leaks, pressure imbalances, and contamination risks.
Fire Extinguisher Inspections:
Inspect and test fire extinguishers to verify their operational status and compliance with fire safety codes.
Conduct visual examinations, pressure checks, and functional tests to ensure extinguishers are ready for use in emergencies.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and organized inspection records, reports, and documentation for each inspection performed.
Create detailed reports outlining inspection findings, deficiencies, and recommended corrective actions.
Provide clear and concise explanations to clients regarding inspection results and necessary repairs or upgrades.
Client Communication:
Interact professionally and courteously with clients during on-site inspections, explaining the purpose and process of inspections.
Communicate inspection results, recommendations, and compliance requirements clearly and effectively to clients.
Compliance and Regulations:
Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and codes related to fire sprinkler systems, backflow prevention, and fire extinguishers.
Ensure all inspections and tests are conducted in compliance with local, state, and national fire safety regulations.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with other team members, including technicians and project managers, to coordinate and schedule inspections.
Provide support and expertise to team members in resolving complex inspection-related issues.
Qualifications:
Valid certifications as a Fire Sprinkler Inspector, Backflow Prevention Device Tester, and Fire Extinguisher Technician.
Strong knowledge of fire safety codes, regulations, and standards.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills for identifying deficiencies and hazards.
Effective communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and regulatory authorities.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet inspection deadlines.
Physical ability to perform inspections, including climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and operating testing tools.
Proficiency in using technology for documentation, reporting, and communication.
