Accountability: This position reports to the Vice President of Engineering
Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Electronics to join our dynamic team. As the Director of Electronics, you will be responsible for leading and managing our electronic engineering departments, overseeing the development and implementation of electronic systems and components. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
As the Director of Electronics, you will play a key role in developing the strategic direction of our electronic engineering department. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute product programs, and technology roadmaps which are in alignment with business goals and objectives. Additionally, you will oversee the design, testing, validation, and launch of electronic systems and components, ensuring their compliance with industry standards. You will also work to expand and grow our internal electronics design and manufacturing capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the electronic engineering departments providing both strategic and technical direction and guidance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute technology roadmaps.
- Interface with key partners and customers to support the business growth initiatives
- Oversee the design, testing, and validation of electronic systems and components.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Utilize technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve complex electronic engineering issues.
- Manage and develop a team of engineering managers and design engineers by providing mentorship and support.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the department.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical engineering
- Master’s degree in EE preferred
- Business degree preferred
- Proven experience in a leadership role within electronic engineering.
- +15 yrs. of electronic product design experience
- +10 yrs. power product design experience
- +3 yrs. second level management of engineering groups
- Strong knowledge of electronic systems and components, specifically related to low power, high power electronics and digital electronic product design.
- Experience managing software and mechanical developments related to electronic products.
- Experience in developing and executing technology roadmaps.
- Extensive understanding of industry standards and regulations with strong preference to high power products.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to mentor and coach
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Proven track record of driving innovation and delivering successful projects.
- Experience working with international design and manufacturing
