Our Am Law 100 client seeks an accomplished, experienced associate to join its U.S. Tax practice. Ideal candidates will be in in their New York (or other) office with 3-6 years of robust experience focused all aspects of transactional tax practice. The group advises on complex M&A transactions, partnership and joint venture transactions, capital markets and securitization offerings, and financial products.They are seeking qualified candidates with transactional tax experience (preferably in a major lawfirm or a national office of an accounting firm), excellent academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school or a Tax LL.M. program. Candidates must also bring a high level of writing and analytic skills to the practice.

They offer competitive compensation and benefits package which includes a discretionary bonus, paid leave, life, health, accident, and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.

Role and responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate tax provisions of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, capital market transactions, and debt financings.

  • Advise clients on the tax transactions involving a wide variety of asset classes and financing structures.

  • Counsel U.S. and non-U.S. clients on investment strategies.

  • Contacting clients and managing deals.

Key requirements

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree (LLM or foreign equivalent) from an accredited law school.

  • Must be admitted, and in good standing, to the bar in the jurisdiction in which you will practice; or must provide written confirmation as to ability to become admitted in that State or District.

Preferred requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical, research, and writing skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage your time effectively.

  • Class years 2021-2018.

  • Salary range: $260,000 to $390,000.
