To ensure the Food & Beverage part of the Hospitality department provides the highest quality of product and service. To exceed guest expectations in all areas as they relate to the department. To meet all budgetary guidelines. Assist the Executive chef in the establishment of a stable, positive, and cohesive team within the department.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists Executive Chef in monitoring kitchen activities.
  • Assists Executive Chef in quality control of kitchen, including but not limited to taste, presentation, and quantity.
  • Oversee day to day preparation and cooking.
  • Works with a sense of urgency
  • Prepare meals and food and ensure proper food temperatures when cooking and storing food.
  • Keeping workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized, and sanitized.
  • Other duties as assigned by EC or direct leadership.

Communication

  • Responsible for helping EC with clear communication within the kitchen staff and KCM community.

Leadership

  • Responsible for providing supportive leadership to kitchen staff throughout food service.
  • Help with training of new kitchen staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Help Executive chef in ensuring the kitchen staff operates in excellence helps to set standards and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate kitchen staff.


Requirements:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Food Service Industry, 5 years’ experience preferred.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Exceptional cooking skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure

EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Kitchen knives, Grills, Oven, Steamer, Warmer, Slicer, Fryers, Food processor
  • Other kitchen equipment as needed or provided

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Be able to lift 60 lbs.
  • Stand a minimum of 8 hours.
  • Must be able to pull, push, stand, sit stoop, bend, reach, and move or carry equipment
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to function in a high demand environment and comfortable with frequent changes.
  • Ability to assist EC in analyzing information, formulating work plans, and preparing written materials.
  • Must be very organized and require a modicum of instruction.
  • Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations.
  • Must be detailed, organized and communicative.
  • Must be task and goal oriented
  • Requires the ability to multi-task
  • Must adapt well to changing work situations.
  • Must be able to grasp and apply new ideas.
  • Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions.
  • Must relate and interact with people at all levels.

OTHER:

  • Born again believer and must adhere to this organization's doctrines as upheld by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and their appointed representatives.
  • Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension, difficulties, and divisions
  • Must maintain a good attendance record
  • Membership and attendance at EMIC are preferred
  • Because of the wide range of personal contact with ministry leaders within and outside the organization, this position requires considerable diplomacy, maturity, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with people of all cultures
