  • BASIC FUNCTION
    • Employees in this position are responsible for the safe control of traffic through our work zones.




  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Valid drivers license. Note: Driving record must be satisfactory to insurance company prior to being permitted to operate a company vehicle.
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and willingness to submit to random drug & alcohol testing.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time, occasionally longer than 10 hours.
    • Physical ability to lift 30 pounds.
    • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
    • Ability to remain alert to hazards and react appropriately if needed.
    • Ability to be prompt and dependable.




  • SKILLS AND TRAINING REQUIRED
    • Successful completion of basic safety and flagger training. (PennDOT training provided by Allegheny Contracting certified safety manager)




  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assists with setting up and tearing down highway work zones and controlling traffic during the course of the day.
    • Responsible to maintain a safe work zone and to represent the company in a professional and courteous manner to the general public and our customers.
    • Responsible to assist emergency vehicles through the work zone as needed.
    • Responsible to properly care for the equipment assigned to them.
    • Responsible to properly perform any other tasks that may be required.
