Job Summary: The Groundskeeper is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the community's grounds and outdoor areas. This includes landscaping, lawn care, and ensuring that all outdoor spaces are clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for outdoor work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance the appearance of lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas.
- Perform routine lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, weeding, and trimming.
- Plant flowers, shrubs, and trees as needed and ensure their proper care and maintenance.
- Water lawns, gardens, and other landscaped areas as required.
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides to plants and lawns to ensure their health and growth.
- Remove trash, debris, and litter from all outdoor areas, including walkways, parking lots, and common areas.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on outdoor structures such as fences, gates, and walkways.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the Property Manager.
- Assist with snow removal and ice management during the winter months, if applicable.
- Respond promptly to resident requests and concerns regarding the grounds and outdoor areas.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of lawn care techniques, plants, and gardening tools.
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and appearance.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and minor repair techniques is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
