What You'll Do 

 

Accounting Specialists at Mid American perform specialized operational duties and complex functions to ensure accurate, efficient, timely and confidential services and support to credit union members, other departments and branches.  

 

Accounting Specialists must also contribute to a positive work environment and the Mid American Credit Union image by maintaining courteous, respectful and effective teamwork and communications, exhibiting a strong desire to serve members and co-workers.


Responsibilities


  • Post and review daily activities, such as: ACH, ATM, corporate checking account, ITM, indirect dealer payments and ATM/Debit/Credit Card transactions.
  • Perform reconciliation and balancing of various accounts and systems, such as but not limited to, ATM, Insurance, ACH, VISA, payroll, bill pay, corporate checks, wires, and cash advances.
  • Assist the CFO with various financial analysis of data and reports.
  • Wire transfer funds, set up automatic transfers, ACH originations, skip-a-payments, garnishments, levies, tax warrants, bill pay, vault/branch reconciliation, ATM cash and ITM orders.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of efficiency.

What You Need to Get the Job Done 

 

  • Education - High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience  - Six months to two years of similar or related experience. Need to have proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Outlook software (Outlook, Word and Excel). 
  • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving and obtaining information, as well as advising or referring, which commonly require shorter discussions.
